it’s raining men (or boys)! chapters 2 & 3
February 1, 2008Chapter Two
More guys right after SHORTY but my memory has failed me. I guess I was more pre-occupied with school and friends rather than boys.
Still in eighth grade, I was not yet over SKATERBOI… I guess he was my first l-o-v-e… hahaha! It took me years to get over him. He was also my date during Senior Prom. What can I say? He was special! Hahahaha! (I guess you can say, first l-o-v-e never dies…)

Chapter Three
Met GUESS, he was from Iloilo. They had an inter-school basketball thing with other schools in Nagaland. They were in our class and he was my backmate (I think). Our English teacher asked me to introduce everyone, after saying out loud the names of my other 51 classmates, the only name he remembered was my name. We exchanged cellphone numbers and we became friends. We watched their game and I have forgotten if they actually won. Nevertheless, they were off to Iloilo after that. Oh… he was cute too! My friend/classmate got mad at me coz GUESS wasn’t paying attention to her, he was more interested in me instead of her (bako ka man daa kayang magayon dear! haha!). She even declared that she saw him first (ay kaherak man na maray si manay!may declaration pang naaaraman!). Sheesh! Hey! That was not my fault! (Siya kaya lumalapit sa ‘kin!)
Met RIVER, he was a heart throb, he was a good dancer too! He was every girl’s crush including two of my closest friends. He was indeed good-looking but he has a darker side lurking beneath him. He likes playing all of us! Good thing I was too smart for that! I realized what a big jerk he was when he tried to flirt with all of us at the same time! I gave him a piece of my mind and he can never look me in the eye again after that! Haha! Good! (Hindi mo ako madadala sa kagwapuhan mo lang! Mamangka ba sa tatlong ilog?! Kung hindi ka ba naman bobo!)
WEST was my classmate’s cousin. There’s not much story there but we went out once, to this dance at their school. I even met his parents. They were really nice. I had a fun time with him and my classmate. My classmate’s date didn’t show up so WEST ended up with two dates for the dance. He was one of those guys that were vain, more vain than girls! Ay ya yay!
And then there was PEPPER, my bestfriend’s ultimate crush. But PEPPER is not a he but rather a she! Yup! If you attended an exclusive school for girls, you would understand. My bessie had this huge crush on her ever since we were in seventh grade. She talked me into “seeing” PEPPER because she doesn’t want a friend of ours be PEPPER’s girlfriend! Over her dead body, as she would always say, she’d rather see me with her ultimate crush rather than somebody else. The things I would do for my friends (it’s crazy!), and so I agreed… we were MUs (“mag-un”, as they would say). Up to this day, I wanna forget that part of my life ever happened! That was the weirdest and the most abnormal six days of my life! I painstakingly did my best to avoid her, getting caught a few times, bad MU! Bad MU! Earning a disapproving nod from my bessie… hey… I was just doing her a freakin’ favor! And I did apologize to the MU… I was weirded out by the whole thing and so I ended it after six days! We didn’t get together or anything like that during those six days. We got together right after the whole MU thing and I was with my bessie. I admitted to them that it was the most abnormal thing in my life, and we just laughed it off. PEPPER agreed, I wasn’t really up to that kind of relationship. (Still, we remained friends and now she’s a mommy! Even she has outgrown that stage in her life! Good for her!)
By this time, I was already moving on… our Senior Prom is looming near, and I had no date for the dance. Since my good friend is best of friends with SKATERBOI, we had it all planned out. And I also chose him coz I was part of the cotillion, which would mean the opening dance for prom… since he too was a good dancer, he was the perfect date. Well, not too perfect, he had a girlfriend at that time and I think they had a fight after he agreed to be my prom date. I guess he didn’t know how to say “no” at that time and his girlfriend was jealous. So there you go… still prom was great! I had fun with my friends and we danced the night away!
