livin’ the simple life: back at nagaland
January 3, 2008Another year, another chance at life! Time spent with family is really worth it! I feel energized, relaxed, motivated even to do well in my life… so to speak…
I spent eight days back home in Nagaland. Spent most of it at home, watching my parents bicker over the simplest things, which makes my brother and I crack everytime! Haha! Needless to say, I missed those times! Haha! I have yet again finished reading for the nth time – A Walk to Remember… which reminds me, I should get myself a new book. I have given both my brothers new books to read and I didn’t get myself one!
Kept eating the whole time too! Damn! I missed my brother’s cooking! Yummy!
And since there’s no cable tv, I spent most of my time playing with the dogs, sleeping, reading novels, teasing ma-dear, and of course, eating!
New Year’s Eve was spent with my high school friends! As usual, most of us were late for our lunch gathering. Would you believe? I was the earliest to come?! Haha! I guess I must have gotten that habit from them! Haha! I had a great time! I can’t believe how much I missed being with them! Of course they couldn’t stop teasing me with the commercial model thing and all that nonsense! Nothing has changed really… except for the fact that most of us are already working and some of us are moms already. I still feel like we’re back in high school, laughing like there’s no care in the world!
Pandemonium hit Shakey’s that very day! Julie’s two-year old son, DX, was quite a handful! Even Julie was giving up! That was such a sight! Made us all rethink if we wanna have children, well, not today! But in the very far future… we might! Haha!
Then I met up with my roomies to visit Kenji – Joyce & Ariane’s godchild, to give him his gifts. Kenji is already 5 years old! Damn! He has grown taller! Goodness! And we also visited Keira, Fei’s several month old baby girl! We took turns carrying her and she’s really cute! We did catch up with Fei and all the latest buzz around the city. We had fun!
I still can’t believe how much we’ve grown over the years!
Back home, we’re all complete! My brother’s family is spending the night and I had the chance to play with my nephew and my niece. They finally opened their presents on New Year’s Eve (I am Santa by the way) and they were all happy with it! Success! I love it!
When the clock struck 12… rain was pouring even harder! It was our very first New Year wherein it was raining. But that didn’t hinder us from celebrating! Fireworks were lighted but not that much though…. We ate the feast prepared… and lighted firecrackers… Since it was raining, we adjourned earlier as expected. After all, the weather is conducive for a good night’s sleep!
